Practical Musicianship, Clarinet & Saxophone Lessons.
For adults and children. Complete beginners to Grade 8+
I am a clarinet specialist with extensive experience teaching and performing clarinet and saxophone in all sorts of settings. I also hold a Master’s degree in music, for which I focused on ethno- and socio-musicological aspects of music in the UK. Please read about my special interests in the Philosophy page.
Daytime slots are available during term-time for adult learners, or for younger people not otherwise in mainstream education.
I offer traditional tuition in clarinet, bass clarinet, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, pursuing graded examination through the ABRSM for those who wish to follow that path.
I also offer the unique opportunity to learn broad music skills through my practical musicianship sessions, where you can fully explore a wider range of instruments, adopting a more relaxed and flexible approach to making music.
Access & Inclusion
I make use of Soundbeam assistive music technology to ensure that people living with impairments or disabilities of any kind are included and supported to make music too. Please contact me to discuss your specific needs. My focus is always on inclusion and fun. I am confident I have something for you!
